The Wellness Couch is a warm, client-centred private practice located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. We support adults, couples, teens (12+), and families across a wide range of concerns including anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, and life transitions. We are committed to creating a space where both clients and **clinicians** feel supported, valued, and empowered. Our work is grounded in authenticity, connection, and evidence-based care.

Due to increasing demand, we are seeking therapist to join our practice a contract basis, with a particular need for clinicians interested in:

  • Couples Counselling

  • Children and Youth Therapy

  • Play Therapy

  • Parenting Support

  • EMDR intervention

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist who wants to grow their caseload within an established, values-driven practice while maintaining independence and flexibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual and/or couples/family counselling (in-person and/or virtual)

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and ethically sound clinical documentation in accordance with professional regulatory standards

  • Manage your own caseload, scheduling, and availability within the practice

  • Share responsibility for marketing your practice and supporting client growth

  • Communicate professionally with clients and, when appropriate, collaborate with external providers (with client consent)

  • Seek and maintain appropriate clinical supervision and/or consultation in accordance with regulatory requirements and professional standards

  • Bring your unique clinical voice, approach, and areas of interest into your work

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, from an accredited university

  • Proof of licensing/member in good standing with the provincial regulatory body NSCCT

  • Ability to obtain professional liability insurance

  • Direct clinical experience in counselling/psychotherapy (or at least one year in a related setting)

  • Training or certification in trauma-informed care, with competency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches

  • Confidence working independently

  • A self-motivated approach to building and sustaining a private practice, including growing your caseload, engaging in marketing, and managing business-related tasks

  • Familiarity with Jane App & Billing Insurance Providers (or openness to learning)

  • A warm, grounded, and relational approach

  • A genuine commitment to ethical, inclusive, and client-centred practice

Pay: $114.00-$133.00 per hour
