Innis MacDonald

Postgraduate Masters Level Counselling Intern

Innis is our counselling Intern from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, who's deeply invested in his community. Innis is currently completing a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), and will be working onsite from May until December 2024 to complete his practicum placement. Innis will provide counselling at subsidized costs to individuals through our Low Cost Therapy Program.

 

In therapy, Innis is known for his warm, approachable nature, instantly putting you at ease as if you're chatting with a friend. He fosters a nonjudgmental environment and is exceptionally supportive and kind. Innis has a unique knack for equipping clients with a diverse set of skills to enhance social interactions, communication, self-esteem, and overall well-being.

 

He specializes in understanding anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and navigating life's challenging transitions. His background includes formal training and hands-on experience assisting individuals in crisis, dealing with addiction, substance abuse, or navigating thoughts of suicide. Innis has a wealth of experience working with at-risk youth and families in Nova Scotia, both in individual and group settings. He's committed to serving individuals of all genders, abilities, races, sexualities, and ages.

Away from the office, Innis loves to spend his time outdoors, whether that's at the golf course, the beach, in the woods, or traveling. He also enjoys playing hockey and watching sports, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. Innis loves watching documentaries, trying new recipes, and teaching his animals new tricks.
